Old Professor Proboscis loves his books – he always has his
nose stuck into one. But he only likes HIS books – old Latin
ones, The Complete Works of Shakespeare and War and Peace, just to
name a few. “The classics are the only real books,” he
says, “Not all this Scary Potter fluff and nonsense and the
like!”
“
But Granddad” says Shannon, ‘I love books, too. And it’s
Harry Potter”
“
Whatever, grandchild, its all rubbish! Young people these days, I
don’t know”
“
Oh, Granddad, get with the times!”
“
Oh, so I guess you want me to be reading books from the computer
screen next?”
It seems old Professor Proboscis takes his reading
seriously – too
seriously. He’s getting very grumpy in his old age. Shannon
thinks its time he experienced some fun and adventure again and make
him realize the merit of all sorts of books – not just the
classics. Perhaps its time for Shannon to start building the Story
Bridge…
