Class Act proudly presents:

Romeo and Juliet

By William Shakespeare
Directed by Craig Williams
With a strong ensemble cast

Class Act Theatre brings you Shakespeare’s timeless love story.

Class Act has a successful history of making Shakespeare accessible to high school students.

Hamlet (2009):

“Here we have a novel approach that was most successful, and with convincing, vicious fight scenes the play was loved by the young audience, who possibly came to truly understand the story for the first time. Most enjoyable, a difficult play handled with great talent.”
Gordon Johnston, Theatre Australia

" Young folk told that a good dose of Shakespeare is good for them should find this production comes with plenty of sugar to help the medicine go down.”
Stephen Bevis, The West Australian.

Macbeth (2008):

“The audience, made up of largely students, remained engaged throughout – a testimony to the success of the performance. It deserves a wider audience.”
Karen Marais, The West Australian

"simple yet effective"
"surprised at the intensity and understanding the cast had on the language"
"found myself drawn in and absorbed in the performance."
"easy to understand and the cast brought to life the written word"

Anna Locke, Australian Stage Online

Othello (2007,2004):

Newman College
“Othello was outstanding. The production brought to life the domestic aspects of the play very well. Watching Iago and Emilia was a treat. The direction was outstanding.”

Lynwood SHS
“An interesting and absorbing production carefully directed with some very strong performances from the leading roles. A very capable cast supporting the leads!”

Guildford Grammar
“We thoroughly enjoyed the production. We really engaged with the experience – it had just the right touch.”

Thornlie SHS
